About This Video

Brooklin, Maine, has been home to ship yards and ship builders for well over two centuries. The wooden boats created in Maine are the products of skilled designers and craftsmen. One of the most legendary boat builders of his time was L. Francis Herreshoff. Doug Hylan, a master boat builder in his own right, tells the story of one of Herreshoff’s most beautiful creations, "Quiet Tune".

I recently read Douglas Whynott's book about a wooden boat yard in Brooklin, which mentions Quiet Tune, so it was interesting to learn more about that boat. Thanks for sharing!
